Pro Arte have been making brushes since 1973 with the intention of producing the best brushes in the world and have been very successful. Due to the growing lack of high quality natural hair and the environmental impact of sourcing suitable materials Pro Arte produced a range of synthetic alternatives. These synthetic materials are called Prolene for watercolour, Acrylix for oil/acrylic and convincingly mimic the qualities of sable or hog whilst being more durable and costing much less.

We stock nearly the full range of Pro Arte brushes and use them extensively ourselves and also in our workshop. We highly recommend them.
